War on Christians conference in Washington D.C.

From the "Dispatches from the Culture Wars" blog - check out this link and read Christian Historian Elizabeth A. Castelli's article covering the "War on Christians" conference.
Yet, when Tom DeLay, the former majority leader of the House of Representatives who is currently under indictment for violations of campaign-finance laws, arrived on the second day of the conference to a standing ovation, Scarborough asserted that DeLay's criminal indictment was simply the result of his being "the target of all who despise the cause of Christ" -- in short, DeLay is clearly another persecuted Christian.
Yeesh! THIS is one of the many goals of a "War on Christians" ideology. They can play the 'persecution' card whenever they wish to deflect scrutiny of their illegal activities! It makes it a lot easier when Dubya illegally wiretaps, or leaks information - he's only being attacked by the Secular Forces! (As if we're a well-oiled Army of some sort!)

Corrupt conservatives in power aren't really criminals - they're only under attack because of their Christian Values.

Yea, right.
