Michael Savage denies Autism and Asthma - "Stop acting like a putz!"

I really don't like writing about Michael Savage. I think he's a bloviated jerk, the bastard demented child of Rush Limbaugh and Anne Coulter.

But when he says something like this:
Now, the illness du jour is autism. You know what autism is? I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is.

What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, "Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, idiot."

Autism -- everybody has an illness. If I behaved like a fool, my father called me a fool. And he said to me, "Don't behave like a fool." The worst thing he said -- "Don't behave like a fool. Don't be anybody's dummy. Don't sound like an idiot. Don't act like a girl. Don't cry." That's what I was raised with. That's what you should raise your children with. Stop with the sensitivity training. You're turning your son into a girl, and you're turning your nation into a nation of losers and beaten men. That's why we have the politicians we have.
This isn't sad, this is just evil. Willful, evil, ignorance. I'll promise my readers something - I'll never write about this man again - I'll merely hyperlink to this post. This man doesn't deserve my words, he deserves to be scraped off the bottom of my shoe like the excrement he is.

His words show that nothing else he says has any bearing with reality or with being human. His words are less than worthless. And talking about him further is demeaning to myself, and to my readers.

22 Jul 08 - Update:

Savage claims his critics have intentionally misquoted him and taken his words on autism out of context. So his voice you hear in the recording? That's apparently a misquote. Huh.

Oh man. Maybe those two quacks would cancel each other out. We could only hope.

I don't think his dad is around anymore. The companies that pay advertising for his syndicate, Talk Radio Network, still are. Maybe they can suggest he stop acting like a putz.

This is the website.

I have never once written a comment on the web about any story, however with Savage's comments regarding Autism I felt compelled to do so. I have two son's with Autism and I see first hand on a daily basis the challenges and struggles they must endure just to try and fit into the world. And it are absolutely fucked up, heartless, clueless comments such as these that makes the already daunting task of just fitting in that much hard. I honestly hope you and your family suffer unspeakable tragedy and pain as that is all you have done here with you comments.

Fuck you Savage!!!!!

Just for the record, I think Anonymous is writing about Savage.

Anon, while I appreciate your heartfelt comments, please - if you decide to post again do so under a pseudonym of some sort.

I have asthma. It mystifies my how he could say it's all in my mind. It's a chronic inflammation of the lung tissue. How is that all in my mind?

What a total and complete idiot! Some humans are a complete waste of flesh.

Healthy people are often mystified about the illnesses of others. If the illness isn't obvious, then it is easy to think that what you feel is what everyone else feels.

It's called, "Projection". I've noticed that people who think of the world in a simplistic, black and white manner tend to project their beliefs and feelings on others.

In response to this posting that lists Hoover as an advertiser associated with The Michael Savage Show and Talk Radio Network, I would like to clarify that Hoover and its parent company, TTI Floor Care North America, are not and have never been sponsors of or advertisers on The Michael Savage Show.

While under the ownership of the Whirlpool Corporation, Hoover-branded ads aired during The Laura Ingraham Show on Talk Radio Network; however, ads have not aired on that program since December 2006 when Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd agreed to purchase the Hoover brand from Whirlpool.

We value feedback from our customers and hope you will contact us directly should you have any questions about this important matter.

Nicole Sinclair,

I have no idea if what you say is true or not. I don't listen to talk radio, so I cannot verify what you say in that manner. You've left no contact information, so I can't verify what you say that way. And finally, there is no link to a website sponsored by TTI Floor Care that mentions you, or Michael Savage.

I really do hope that what you say is true - but until it is verified, I must treat your words as mere hearsay.

Finally, I would point out that if you really are speaking for TTI Floor Care that you would do it in a more professional manner - perhaps a press release - instead of trying to preform a strange kind of astroturfing.

Your response to Nicole Sinclair's professional and timely response, on behalf of TTI Floor Care which owns Hoover and Dirt Devil Brands, to the Michael Savage ordeal had to be the most ignorant reading I've done in quite some time. First of all the media never brought up the issue of Hoover allegedly advertising during the Michael Savage Show. Ms. Sinclair was responding to concerned citizens calling TTI Floor Care directly and inquiring about the incident. Her response was addressing those concerns and in turn others published it on blogs. I think that technically qualifies as a "Press Release" and not... what did you call it? Oh yes, "Astroturfing", much like your response on here! If you would have taken literally 2 seconds to Google TTI Floor Care you would have had their website in front of you instantaneously with contact information. If you would have allowed 5 more seconds, you could have simply clicked on the link 'Contact Us' at the top of the page and then click on 'Public Relations' which would have brought up direct email to nicole.sinclair@ttifloorcare.com. Just to make sure you understood why I clicked on 'Public Relations' is because it was clearly stated in her title as PUBLIC RELATIONS and Promotions Manager. With 20,000 employees worldwide and as head of Public Relations and Promotions for TTI Floor Care North America, I'm sure Ms. Sinclair has more pressing issues than holding your hand to verify her credentials. So in a nutshell, and I do use that term loosely, carry on!

Wow. What an interesting display of outrage.

My point still stands. Ms. Sinclare left a note in my blog with no way for me to verify her as being real.

I'm not saying that Ms. Sinclare is a fictional person, I'm saying that without an official press release on the TTI website that backs up this statement there is no way to verify that she is speaking for herself, or officially for her company. Or if this person is just someone using her name.

Finding her name on the TTI website means nothing. I could drop by your blog and leave you a note signed by George W. Bush. And then fly into mock outrage when you refuse to believe it because he has an email address.

Finally, I think your bluster is amusing. Just a hint - use whitespace, it makes you seem less crazy.

Okay Lon, Just for you, I took 2 seconds and checked again.

There is still no indication on the TTI website that Ms. Sinclare is speaking officially for her company, or that her company is backing up her words.

All you got to be outraged about is a name, a name that anyone can use.

But thanks for the outrage.
