A feast for your eyes

Some of the greatest art in the world was painted in the years from 1850 to 1910 - and you may never have heard of it.

Let's correct that now. Here are 3 of my favorites - click on them for an enlarged view.

The first one, on the left, is William Bouguereau's "Broken Pitcher".

Next is J. W. Godward's "Nerissa".

Below is Lord Frederick Leighton's "Music Lesson".

The world of "Modern" art almost destroyed the techniques that are required to paint these masterpieces. Art snobs spent years telling everyone that this art wasn't any good.

How can anyone gaze on this and not have their heart touched?
